Museum of the History of Cypriot Coinage was established in 1995 and is one of a kind. The permanent exhibition consists of more than 500 coins that are divided into nine chronological periods and showcased in 23 display cases. Visitors can see the history of Cyprus unravel through these coins, which date back to the 6th century BC. Each object comes with a photograph, an illustration and a short description that explains the object’s dimensions.

The Cyprus Cultural Foundation holds special educational programs for children and students. The museum has a multi-media, interactive display that screens additional information about the development of numismatics on the island.

The museum is open everyday all year round, except on federal holidays. Entrance is free. The building is wheelchair accessible.
