Polis is on the site of the ancient city state of Marion, which was later renamed Arsinoe, hence how the museum got its name. The Marion-Arsinoe Archaeological Museum is a collection of ancient artefacts that were discovered in archaeological digs in the area. The museum boasts numerous displays with ancient pottery, silver and gold jewellery, funeral relics, etc.
All the artefacts are annotated in Greek and English. There are also tours with Russian-speaking guides available. The qualified museum staff is always on hand to help. Admission is about 2 euros. The museum has a large park with an amphitheatre in the middle.
